IND vs WI 2023: West Indies squad for second Test

After an awful performance in the first Test against India, the West Indies have made minor changes to their squad for the second and final test of the series. On July 20, the two teams will meet at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad, with the hosts aiming to win in order to tie the series 1-1.

In their first encounter of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle, the Caribbean team lost to the Rohit Sharma-led side by an innings and 141 runs. As a result, they will be eager to regain their footing. While the West Indies have retained the majority of the squad that lost to India in Dominica, they have substituted uncapped off-spinner Kevin Sinclair for fellow all-rounder Raymon Reifer.

Reifer had scores of 2 and 11 with the bat and went wicketless in the first Test against India, but he will travel to Trinidad with the team and could be used if an injury arises. The 23-year-old bowler has already appeared in seven ODIs and six T20Is for the West Indies, giving captain Kraigg Braithwaite an additional bowling option. His most recent appearance was in Zimbabwe during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

If selected to make his Test debut in Trinidad, the Guyana-born right-arm spinner Sinclair will likely team up with fellow spinner Rahkeem Cornwall. Sinclair's distinctive manner of wicket-celebration garnered widespread attention. Following the conclusion of the second Test, the two teams will compete in a three-match ODI series, followed by five T20Is.
