Babar Azam Praises Fakhar Zaman After Win Over Bangladesh. Here's What He Said

Babar Azam was ecstatic with Fakhar Zaman's innings following their victory over the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, headed by Shakib Al Hasan, in the 31st match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Tuesday, October 31 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Pakistan defeated the Bangla Tigers with 105 deliveries remaining and triumphed comfortably by seven wickets due to their all-around prowess. They dismissed the opposition for 204 runs on the bowling prowess of Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr., who were invited to bowl first.

Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique got the team off to a fantastic start in run-chase, followed by Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan to conclude the match.Babar Azam, speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, commended Fakhar Zaman's valor. What he stated was:

"The boys deserve all the credit for our performance in all three departments." We are all aware that a distinct ball game ensues when Fakhar bats for 20–30 overs; he played his natural game. Positive to see him."

Babar Azam added that they are striving to conclude the ICC World Cup 2023 on a positive note by winning their remaining two encounters. What he stated was:

"Our objective for the next two matches is to secure victory; thereafter, we will assess our progress. We got off to a great start, just as Shaheen had. They formed a partnership after 15 to 20 overs, and our primary bowlers took wickets. We acquired victims during the intervening overs. Much obliged (fans) for their tremendous support."

Significantly, Pakistan's prospects of advancing to the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2023 remain bleak; however, numerous factors must converge favorably for the Men in Green.Continue reading Virat Kohli versus Sachin Tendulkar in IND vs. SL? I practiced a lot on my batting after Asia Cup – Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman was named Player of the Match in recognition of his outstanding batting performance. Post-match, he remarked that his laborious efforts since the Asia Cup have finally been rewarded. What he stated was:

After the Asia Cup, I practiced a lot on my batting, I was looking good at the camp and was looking forward to making it to the team. Today, my hard work paid off after I was given a chance.”

Fakhar Zaman also discussed his role on the team, stating that by playing an attacking brand of cricket, he strives to make the work easier for his opening partner. Additionally, he hoped to maintain his current level of play in the upcoming matches.

I told Abdullah that I will see off the first few overs, I knew I could hit big sixes. My role is to make it easy for my partner, so it was important to see off the first few overs and then play my shots. NRR was in our mind after we reached 100, the aim was to finish it off in 30 overs. I had too many failures, I was looking towards such a knock and hopefully I’ll make bigger scores in the next few games.”
