To return to the contest, Hashmatullah Shahidi, captain of Afghanistan, was awarded the toss and elected to begin batting. Nevertheless, his decision was not justified by his openers, who were reduced to 63/3 after 13.1 overs. Rohit Sharma broke records with explosive century
