Boult, Jamieson Back In New Zealand Squad For England ODI's Series

Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson return to New Zealand's ODI squad for the September series against England in order to finalise combination for the crucial World Cup 2023 in India.

Kyle Jamieson, who has been coming from back injury, has not played in an international match since June 2022. Trent Boult, who has been an integral part of the Kiwis' establishment over the past decade or so, last played an ODI against Australia at Cazaly's Stadium in Cains in September 2022.

"We're thrilled to have Kyle in this squad in addition to his initial selection for the T20 squads to face the UAE and England. Gary Stead was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying, "He has been working extremely hard on his rehabilitation following back surgery, and we look forward to seeing him back on the international stage."

"It is also a pleasure to welcome Trent back to our ODI squad as he prepares for the World Cup in India. It has always been our intention to discuss with Trent, along with a large number of other individuals, what their plans entail for each individual, and Trent and I have discussed that this is the appropriate buildup for him as we approach the World Cup.

We're still attempting to be adaptable and flexible to those players' needs, and we haven't closed the door on anyone. Trent's return and inclusion in our squad as we prepare for the championship is a good example of this.

Michael Bracewell  did not make the cut after failing to regain full fitness following surgery in June, while James Neesham and Mark Chapman missed out due to family obligations.

Kane Williamson will travel with the New Zealand team to participate in training sessions and continue his rehabilitation following ligament surgery, while leg-spinner Ish Sodhi will return home after the conclusion of the T20I series on September 4 to spend meaningful time with his family.
