Big Blow For India, Two Big Players Likely To Miss Match Against New Zealand
India will play against New Zealand in Dharamsala on Sunday.
Ahead of match against the New Zealand National Cricket Team, the India National Cricket Team has been dealt a double setback as star batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan encountered difficulties during the net session on Saturday, October 21.
Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav are both named to India's 15-man squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. While Kishan has appeared in two matches for India thus far, Suryakumar Yadav has yet to debut in an ODI at the World Cup level.
Many are placing their trust in Suryakumar to earn a starting spot in the playing XI, as Hardik Pandya is ruled out for several matches in the marquee tournament due to an injury. An injury concern during the net session, however, has dealt a significant setback to Suryakumar Yadav's World Cup participation prospects.
During his batting in the nets, Suryakumar Yadav sustained a right wrist injury and promptly exited the area. The physiotherapist applied an ice compress to his hand, and his wrist was subsequently taped, as reported by journalist Lalith Kalidas.
Prior to Suryakumar's injury setback, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan suffered a severe injury when he was attacked by a bee and was forced to leave the nets in considerable discomfort.
