Asia Cup 2023: INDIA vs PAKISTAN Weather Forecast R Premadasa Stadium Colombo
R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will host the high-voltage thriller between arch-rivals team India and Pakistan on Sunday.
On Sunday, September 10, the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will host the high-stakes match between archrivals India and Pakistan. However, it is important to note that there is a substantial rain threat for the match, which could disrupt the Asia Cup 2023 contest.
Notably, the group stage match between the bitter rivals was rained out at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy due to persistent rain. As the Super Four match begins at 3:00 PM local time (and IST), 'Accuweather' predicts cloudy conditions with a few thunderstorms throughout the day.
The cloud cover is predicted to be 96% and the humidity to be 84%. Wind surges in the afternoon are likely to reach 41 kilometers per hour, while winds from the south-west will reach 20 kilometers per hour. Towards the late evening, the cloud cover is at 100 per cent with probability of precipitation at 96 per cent.
Similarly, 'BBC Weather' predicts a 47 percent probability of precipitation in the afternoon, which will increase in the late evening. According to weather forecasts, the match will likely be postponed due to the rain gods making their presence felt on the day of the match.
Reserve Day on September 11
If the match is disrupted due on the stipulated day, then it will resume on the reserve day. For the uninitiated, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) received approval from the administrations of all four Super Four teams for the allocation of a reserve day for the India-Pakistan match.
Notably, match officials can extend the game by 90 minutes on the day of the match; however, if the game is not completed on Sunday, it will recommence on Monday from where it was left off.
