Matthew Short, age 27, signed a new three-year contract with Adelaide Strikers that will keep him with the franchise until 2026. In the most recent incarnation of the prestigious tournament, Short amassed 458 runs in 14 matches and 11 wickets. Even though his team finished seventh in the standings, the cricketer was named the BBL Tournament's Most Valuable Player as a result.
Against Hobart Hurricanes in the 12th edition, he also recorded his personal best score of 100*. This hit assisted the Strikers in achieving the most effective run chase in tournament history (230). Short, speaking about his new contract, expressed his delight at re-signing with the club and praised them for their confidence.
"I am thrilled to have re-signed. Short was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as stating, "The Strikers believed in me and provided me with opportunities, and I am attempting to repay them with my loyalty."
Moises Henriques, a veteran Australian all-rounder, inked a three-year contract with Sydney Sixers. It will be his thirteenth season with the Sixers in the upcoming iteration, and he will be 39 years old when his new contract expires. He has been the team's mascot for a considerable amount of time.
Notably, Sydney Sixers qualified for the finals last season under his able leadership, but regrettably lost to Perth Scorchers on the night of the championship match. Aside from that, he has won three championships with the Sixers and will seek a fourth in the upcoming competition.
